This time last summer I remember thinking… if we could only get some rain. All I can say this year… is I think we’re making up for it. It’s been so nice to finally see a little green after a long grey winter and a very dry summer last year. So in an effort to make the most of all the rain we’re getting, I decided to make an investment in my garden. I went ahead and did it! I splurged and bought a RAIN BARREL! There was a time when I thought it was a ridiculous purchase… but now I see the light. Every weekend I would watch gallons and gallons of water run off my roof top and down into the drain. Now I can store up that gift from heaven and save it … not for a rainy day… but for a sunny one. After doing a little research online… I found a few attractive rain barrels for under 100 bucks. Those were my criteria… I didn’t want it to look like a hazzardous materials container and I wasn’t willing to pay $350 for it. So after taking a look at shipping and handling for a few top picks… I decided on the above Sam’s Club. It just kind of looks like a big terracotta pot (but it’s really plastic.) We’ll see just how well it works with the next line of storms we have moving out way.
Water, Water Everywhere!

And let me guess, Tracye. The water collected in your barrel has a yellow film on top of it courtesy all this pine pollen, doesn’t it?
Beautiful… just beautiful…
