Happy Thanksgiving


happy-thanksgivingWow… I can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving already.  2008 has flown by, now that the holidays are here, it’s only a matter of time before we are ringing in a new year.

I’m not sure how anyone else plans to celebtrate Thanksgiving, but it is a time when we should all reflect on the past year and take account of everything we have to be thankful for.  I am so fortunate and blessed to have everything I need and most of everything else.  Of course good health and a wonderful family top that list… but the thing I’m most thankful for is that I’m at a place in my life where I can recognize that everyday is truly a gift and the good times wouldn’t feel nearly as great… without going through the bad.

I’m not sure it’s really sinking in yet that we have made history with the election of a new president.  It was amazing to watch the political campaign unfold and the momentum Barack Obama had behind him.  His platform was change… and that’s what motivated people across the country to wait in line for hours before election day and cast their ballots. But the question now is… how quickly will change come? The morning after the election we had a political science professor on our show.  She made the same point Obama made in his speech the night before.  Change may not come in a year… the drastic change we would like to see as a country may not even come in a single term.  It will be interesting to see just how our country will change with a new president.
